Write Your Own Job Description: Interview with Christina Vernon Sanborn
We all dream of having a career we're passionate about. But so many people put themselves into a track and passively wait for opportunities to come. This episode explores the intrepid career path of someone who took a stand for making a difference and never stopped evolving. Advocate for what you believe in. Even if it's not initially well received, keep going- you never know when your message will land with the right person. View every "no" as a "not yet" and keep pursuing the way to get what you want accomplished. There is a ripple effect that occurs when you inspire others to take action that will amplify your own work. Everything is an equity issue- link what you are doing back to those who will be served by it. No matter how much you achieve in your career, keep evolving. Never stop moving towards new opportunities. Tell your story quantitatively. Facts are not subjective and help surface where there's work to be done. No matter how great your message, if you don't connect with the people you want to help, it's like yelling into the wind.
