April 26, 2025 ~ Todd Bettison grew up in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Administration from Wayne State University. In 1994, he joined the Detroit Police Department as a patrol officer and has served as inspector captain, commander, deputy chief, assistant chief, and eventually first assistant in the Detroit Police Department. From 2021 to 2024, he was also the Deputy Mayor of Detroit.
