Richard was a pioneer in Open Science in genetics in the 1980's. In this conversation, Richard talks about growing up in California with his mother being a librarian, introducing him to evidence-based thinking from a very young age. He talks about being captivated in college by the revolution in biology based on DNA and molecular biology, and working with recumbent DNA.
