77: "We Are All Included In Exclusion" - Dina-Perla Portnaar

We all live in the same world, but at the same time we don’t. We might call a certain place or a certain community our home, but at the same time, it can be an entire different universe from the life other people are living. Some communities, religious or not, actively isolate their members. Sometimes it is the civil society that is responsible for the exclusion of an individual or a certain group of people. Dina-Perla Portnaar has experienced isolation and exclusion herself when she grew up. And she knows that today in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, maybe people and many groups still have to face exclusion. And she knows that most of us also play an active role in that, whether we are aware of it or not.
