#30 "Framework to Support Neurodivergent and Queer People" with Pasha Marlowe
Part 2 of the Neuroqueering and Neurobelonging discussion This episode provides practical tools and a complete framework for supporting neurodivergent and queer people. The skills you learn today will help ALL leaders (parents, teachers, coaches, and therapists) be neurodiversity-affirming and gender- affirming. Pasha shares the framework that was presented at the international ADHD conference that includes intersectionality, asking, affirming, and advocating. Concepts of psychological safety, non-apparent disability, inclusive design, and safe space are explored. Pasha states "Unless you intentionally include, you will unintentionally exclude" and encourages people to "drop the disorder" from our language. If you want to dig deeper into the concepts of the neurodiversity paradigm, psychological safety, inclusive language, and dual stigma, please listen to Part 1, entitled "Neurobelonging and the Neurodiversity Paradigm". Please reach out to Pasha with any questions or to discuss these concepts further at pasha@pashamarlowe.com Support the show HIRE PASHA to SPEAK at your next training event or conference.
