
Randy Anthony Phillips is a coach at Johnston High School in Rhod Island. On this episode, Randy opens up about his family dynamic as well as the importance of playing sports at a young age. He explains playing basketball with his cousin and the memories they shared doing something they loved as kids. Randy talks about bouncing from different jobs until he was offered an opportunity to coach his nephew playing football. He worked up the ranks coaching various levels of youth football and other sports then making the transition to high school football. Also, he talks about the value his mentors provided in coaching and molding young minds to become successful adults. Then, Randy shifted his focus to girls flag football and is now trying to raise awareness to get it sanctioned in the state of Rhode Island as a sport. He discusses the life lessons football can teach young women and the amazing opportunities it provides to even get scholarships for college.
