Cardiovascular disease is the #1 killer of women. The American Heart Association does the critical work year-round of education and fund-raising to save lives through research and support. On March 6th, the Go Red for Women Experience is one such major fund raiser. Chairwoman Lee McGrath provides some insights, including her personal experience with heart disease. Lee also is a great model of what it means to volunteer with and support this important nonprofit organization. Hana Hooper is the 2024 Woman of Impact winner and is a keynote speaker at the Go Red for Women Experience on March 6. Hana's mom, Ali Hooper, joins her as they share the stunning story of Hana's heart health journey. At just 18, while in her first weeks at university, Hana suffered a stroke that was not initially diagnosed. This adversely affected her heart, ultimately leading to a heart transplant. With her family by her side supporting her, Hana says she is leading a good life and is dedicated to informing women of the ways heart disease affects them, and us as well. www.heart.org/pugetsoundgored Learn more about your ad choices.
