
124. Sharing your TBI story with Megan Hurley
Megan Hurley is a brain injury survivor who transformed her challenges with cognition, communication, and focus into a mission of hope and resilience. Through resources to re-learn writing and speaking, she discovered her passion for inspiring others to overcome life’s greatest obstacles with strength and determination. A former high school teacher, Megan is a motivational speaker, educator, and advocate for multiple nonprofit organizations dedicated to raising awareness about brain injury, empowerment, and mental health. She delivered a talk at a SPEAK Event, Leap to Success & presented at various Toastmasters International conferences. Megan holds a BA from Fairfield University and certificates in Mental Health/Wellness and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion from the University of South Florida. In her memoir, Hope Survives: Strength After a Traumatic Brain Injury, Megan shares her inspirational journey of resilience and renewal, encouraging others to find hope and purpose in the face of adversity. She lives with her husband, Bob, & their dog Shadow, in San Diego.
