Gabrielle Oliveira is an Associate Professor of Education and Brazil Studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is the author of "Now We are Here: Family Migration, Children's Education, and Dreams for a Better Life." Gabrielle met and learned the stories of sixteen immigrant families, human beings in search of a better life, pursuing a dream when conditions in their home countries became dire, and they had to leave to survive.
